I wanted to report my good news that I received form the doctor this week and share in the hope with everyone esle. My Alpha fetoprotein was at 1.5 normal is >6.1 and HCG was 2, normal is >5. So i have been told my tumor markers are back in normal range. Is there anything esle I should be asking about?

My original markers were at 174 and 70 and over the last 6 weeks after the surgery and during chemo have been slowly dropping. I can’t get my doctor to say cancer free but I believe I am as normal, at least markers wise, :) as anyone else. I want to be excited but not to sure how to feel. Any thoughts? I have a checkup the end of September to begin surveillance.

Much love to everyone else, Stay posative!

Great news Brian!!!

Those markers are definitely in the normal range. Have you decided on a course of action yet?

Hi Brian...so you've completed your chemo course. That's great news, and even better news that your markers have fallen within normal - which means that chemo was really effective. At this point just months after your initial diagnosis, I don't think you will find any oncologist to say that you are cancer-free...but you can feel pretty darn good that you are very well on your way to getting there!!!
