Stage IIc pure seminoma, orchiectomy done, 8cm mass by right kidney. 3 rounds of BEP completed 4-12-05. 8cm mass shrunk only to 7cm. My oncologist sent results to IU. They recommended for me to wait 6 weeks post chemo to have a PET scan. Had PET last Thursday, on Friday Oncologist said that report said mass is now 10 cm and "glowing" at level 3 on a scale of 1-10 (1=dim, 10=bright). Radiologist said that testes cancer tumors often glow at a lower level. Good news is that cancer is only seen in that one mass, does not appear to have spread anywhere else. Doctor is now going to send my results of PET to Indiana. Any comments/advice? Anyone had a similar experience?
