This is in no way intended to scare anyone off from surgery and treatment there is no price that can be put on your life. If you have trouble paying your med bills talk to the providers most will take a payment over many months at ZERO interest.
Cost before any insurance reduced the bill in a city of 100,000 plus.
This is more of a real world cost I know there are numbers out there but they seemed very old and out dated.
I will update this with what insurance has allowed to the provider and my out of pocket, in the future.
But every visit there is a 20.00 co-pay which along with the 90-10 network insurance split for hospital charges, is my out of pocket cost.

My cancer center has a CT scanner, Digital X Ray and has their own lab so I can kill many birds with one stone or visit or co-pay :)

And Beating the high prices with HMO I love it when they chop a bill down over 50% :) :D I still think they should get paid but 3000.00 for a CT scan that should take 30 minutes I am in the wrong business!!!!!!! No wonder my doctor bought his own CT machine He charges 1/2 the hospital rate and it is right in the cancer center.

Just to add to Brian's numbers. This is all from the top of my head; discounted $figures are for BCBSGA PPO:
CT scans, w/ contrast, ab and pelvis: approx. $4,500 per ride;
CXR: approx. $250 per occurence;
Markers: approx. $250 per occurence.
Don't forget to add $250 for CT and CXR for radiologists' fees.
Hi-res U/S: approx. $500 per occurence.
Initial I/O w/ all the fixins (surgery, O/R, anesthesia): about $5-6k.
Of course, I do deductibles and co-pays which ever since I entertained this new "hobby" of mine, tend to max out at $2k per year.

Boy, what a scam. I thought the $1200 in our little town of 5000 was expensive so went 3 hours west and got it for $700.
Somewhere on this board is a post of my expenses going to Germany for I/O and RPLND. There was a recent article in Deutsche Welle (http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,2178440,00.html) regarding Medical Tourism.

Day before surgery almost cost as much as the surgery day I would rather pay the doctor to a little more. When I lived in Kansas City I knew doctors that were so tired of insurance reductions that they built their own surgery center that way they don't sub out to the hospital to use the O.R.

To date the total costs have been almost $200k, but the insurance contract amounts have been only $108k. I'm in an MSA and have no co-pay, just a large deductible every year ($1750 - about the after insurance charge for a CT and radiologist review) but after that as long as I stay in network, the charges are covered 100%.

I have 2000.00 ded and 20.00 co-pay Got to love out of pocket cost :) I guess without insurance I would be screwed living in a tent at the park :( so I won't say to much.
I will set up a flexible spending account for next year I just have to figure out how much to put in since if you don't use it you give up those funds.
I guess everyone on here that has that option for a flex account needs to get that figured out since sign up is just around the corner.

from the very first doctors visit until today my husbands treatment, surgeries, scans, bloodworks, and all that Jazz has added up to about 450k. All we are responsible for is copays for each doctors visit (20 dollars), but that does not come cheap either... For a family of 3 we pay close to 750 dollars a months in health insurance.
CT scans are usually billed at about 4k to the insurance and that is with them done inside the Oncologist office. When they are done at the hospital iti s about 5k.
What I thought was expensive was the Nulasta shots. Those are billed to the insurance at 5k a pop and when you 6 of them through treatment it sucked. All to get "rehydrated" just a bag of fluids it was charged 800 dollars.

There's also some other little bonus items you can pay for, such as:
-cost of sperm donation, freezing and banking
-IVF if you're lucky enough to be dealing with low sperm count/motility
Our cute little budget that we put together when first getting married has probably gone down the drain. . . we never really figured on cancer going into the equation.
Oh well. . . I should really stop b*tching, so far things have been pretty easy.
