My dh had Ca last year with orchiectomy and radiation treatment. It has been over a year since his last treatment. Now he feels similar pain in his right testicle and is panicked. He had a scare over the winter and it turned out to be a hydrocele but for some reason he is panicky now about this new pain. Help! I just don't know what we would do.

I know that sick feeling in the pit of one's stomach at the prospect of TC2 all too well. But the only sure way to address the panicked feeling is to go straightaway to a urologist. Think of how relieved you'll feel if the news turns out to be good, or conversely, how important it will be to catch it early in the unlikely event the news is not so good. Of course it's scary - I remember vividly the cold chill down my spine when I was recently diagnosed with TC2 - and something I would hope nobody would ever have to face. But with love and support from one's family, it's something that can indeed be faced. But please take that first step and get it checked out, if for no other reason than to set aside your fears. Very best of luck!
Well said, Aegletes.
It is unlikely cancer as TCx2 is very uncommon. Don’t ignore the pain, get it checked out right away.

I agree with Ageletes, you can not be sure of TC until a doctor diagnoses it.
He would get an exam, US and labs.
The pain could be any number of things, best to you.
Don't panic, but do get to the urologist as soon as possible. If and I say IF, this is TC2, you want to catch it early. For anyone who has had TC, the odds of the tumor in the other testicle are 2-5%. So it is unlikely, but possible. As always early detection is the best treatment.
I hope this is nothing.
Best wishes and let us know when you get your appt scheduled.

Going to Dr. tomorrow morning. But I can't help but notice you all had second cancers. I feel like this is not as uncommon as they say. Am I crazy. I don't know what we will do if it is a second cancer. My husband will fall apart I fear and we have three small kids and were trying for the fourth. Will he be able to have sex again. How does that work?

Please see my PM and please give yourself a chance to breathe a little first and to talk to the doctor. Don't judge the prevalence of TC2 by the few of us here: it's selection bias, after all. Let's see what the doctor has to say. Even in the case of TC2, with proper hormone replacement, sexual function, muscle mass, bone density, and general health are maintained. However, in the absence of testes to produce sperm, fertility is not. I understand your concern on the fertility front full well. I never had children and now cannot at all. But as a TC2 survivor I'm otherwise in the peak of health so hopefully that can reassure you a bit even if the outcome of your doctor visit isn't favorable. But I'm hoping it is favorable and you'll have nothing to worry about.

We went to see Dr. Sheinfeld today and he did not feel anything and did not seem overly concerned. My husband is scheduled for ultrasound and CT scan on Monday. I will let you all know. I feel pretty confident it is nothing but as you all know the fear is always there.
Thanks for all your support. I pray for my husband and everyone of you.
Sarah
Hate the anxiety. Sheinfeld feeling nothing is a good sign in the right direction. Hope all goes well.
Thinking of you,
