The "All Clear" Club, that is. First post-op markers, CXR and initial CT results are in and it seems I've dodged the bullet. As an added benefit, I'm still "not pregnant"! (Gotta love the diligence of my lab, they really go that extra mile.)

One odd thing - my doc described his surveillance protocol. It mirrors the NCCN's for CXR/blood work, but my doc also wants 1 pelvis/abd CT each year as well. Not that I mind him being overly cautious, but is the annual CT really necessary? There's not much left in there after he went to town during the RPLND and after having 6 CTs in the last 6 months, I'm a bit concerned about unnecessary radiation...

Hey Russ,

My doc also wanted to do a CT scan after the first year even though I had the RPLND/2x EP. I didn't ask if this would be a yearly thing, but it's definitely worth mentioning when I see him later this month.

By the way, congrats on the all clear!

Nice new avatar, Russ. Having misplaced both ("they were here a second ago"), it sure sums up the feeling of missing marbles.

Even tho that is a lot of CT scans in that short ammount of time, its for the best.

Blood work is fine and all but some(most) of the time your markers are normal even though there is something up. Its a pain in the butt, and you gotta get poked a few more times but its always better to be safe than sorry.

I'll have a drink for you on friday, cheers!:)

That's fantastic, Russ! I'll have some scotch for you at Karen's next weekend (as I'm sure others will, too).

Pshaw, she totally fell down those stairs on her own.

Actually, I have about six free minutes this month thanks to work and my social calendar and already blocked time out to go to Philly the following weekend. (Of course, there's also the fact that NJ smells kind of funny...) :p

Take if from somebody who moved here from Pennsylvania, the secret is to breathe through your mouth. :)
