Still in process, a deeper understanding of HMO has surfaced for me. As we head toward elections, I find a deeper urgency to think seriously through the issues. Shedding this latest thought. Many are most likely very aware of this....I will blame wall street or perhaps distraction from a stealthy disease. Please consider health insurance...HMO. As patients arrive to be treated, there is most often a picture of treatment and care. Many times we heard of the missed diagnosis for many body systems. Why so often runs through my mind. As the curtain opens on the man who creates false flames, the reality of a powerful, integrated and creative supporter collapses to the picture of a weakened tired man.
Patients arrive to be treated...some tests ordered
Patient gets better or worse
Some activity occurs based on care practices and occasional humanistic behavior
Patient becomes very ill
Patient is drugged into a stupor (pain meds, mood enhancing, etc) or illness takes over (difficult to speak to concerns or find appropriate care)
Realization surfaces in spite of obstacles and neglegent care is discovered
Arbitration occurs and previous efforts restricts compensation to a minimum
(not close to actual patient needs)
Case is closed, but in order for patient to recieve the compensation, they must sign the documents to OZ swearing silence of having pulled the curtain.
The wizard is alive and well day after day, curtain pull after curtain pull.
