Side effect question

I am starting to experience a possible side effect from the chemotherapy. Bleomycin in particular. It has been 3 yrs since my last treatment. Several months ago I began to notice that when I would get cold, some of my fingers would turn white and go numb. This has gotten worse as the temperatures have decreases, and now it is happening in both of my hands and feet.

Through research I have determined it is probably Raynaud's Phenomenom from the bleomycin. Has anyone else experienced this? My main question is, does it ever go away? I find it odd that it took 3 yrs to manifest, and am hoping it will dissapear just as sudden as it appeared. Thanks.

My husband didn't have chemotherapy so I don't have anything to share from that perspective. Have you spoken to your doctor about it?

Hey Silas, could this just be one of those things you get as you age? I know that my body never ceases to surprise me each year! The latest ones are hands that crack and bleed in cold weather and hives when I apply pressure to them!

I havent spoken to the doctor about it yet. It could be from aging I suppose, but I am only 24. From the reading I have done online Raynaud's is a possible side affect from the bleomycin.

Id go and see your Doctor and take his advice.
Theres a really good organisation called the Raynaurds and scleroderma association if it is that , that advise etc and give practical support for people with it.

I was actualy diagnosed with Raynaud's Phenomenom as a teenager, before I started chemo, my doc was going over side effects and mentioned this. I told him that I already had Raynaud's Phenomenom. He had to take a few days to investigate whether we should go forward with Bleo, he never heard of anyone coming in with this. We chose to and my Raynaud's Phenomenom is far worse now. I have two fingers on each hand that are effected more that the others. They also turn completely white and go numb. The only good thing I can take out of this is no more shoveling! Oh yeah and Bleo helped rid me of cancer.:D

I experience something similar in my left index finger when it gets cold. I assume that it is a result of the million finger picks they did to me over the years.
