Dr is confused and now I'm getting nervous

So i came back from the doctors office today. I told his associate (since he was in surgery), this pain was getting worse and my percocet are like pez and i dont want more narcotics. They decided to schedule me for a spermatic cord block for my pain but still want to wait 2 more weeks for ultrasound.

They are both very insistent that this is NOT a tumor because its not hypervascular, tumors do not present with, or cause, pain, and my marker tests were negative.

Tumors DO present with pain (not always, but sometimes). If your doctor says otherwise, well, screw him! You tell him that a one-balled man on the internet had a tumor that most definitely presented with pain!

Ugh! So sorry you are still having issues. Testicular tumors due on occasion present with pain. Ask my son who is a high school senior and was dx last December!

What do i do? How did you folks do it? Im not the one with a medical degree so i dont want to tell the dr what to do...but i really dont agree with waiting 2 more weeks when theres something obviously going on. i doubt itll just go away like they think it will if its only been getting worse. But thats just me- maybe im panicking a bit much?

You can always go to a different doc & get another opinion.

I may do just that. I bet i could easily talk the insurance into it no problems. I dont mind the waiting, but i feel like they could do some other sort of testing to rule out other conditions? Could a tumor itself be painless and then start to cause pain once it reaches a certain size? They don't seem at all concerned with the avascular mass in my left testicle

I had pain in my left testicle, very dull pain and sensitive to touch. I also had two lumps, ultrasound revealed three tumors in left testicle, one being almost as big as the testicle itself, no blood flow, no connection to each other, all blood test came back negative, CT scan was good. Biopsy was scheduled for the next week, did biopsy, all three were Stage 1 Seminoma cancer. The left testicle was removed. Appointment with my oncologist went well, No Chemo, No Radiation, just Observation. I tell you all this because sometimes it doesn't give the classic signs, I would seek out the best urologist you can find. This is not something to play around with or waste time on. To be honest, Ive actually enjoyed having one ball, its less drama lol.

Lemme tell you something man, that feeling you have with your right testicle thumping against your leg and feeling like a cannonball is something I had to wait two weeks to have removed. At least with me, I had elevated markers and the radiology exam came back showing a 3.5 ish cm mass in my left testicle. It was more clear-cut in my case, but I would seek out a second opinion if your insurance allows. If it is T.C. the difference in treatment could only be a week or two weeks from having the diseased testicle removed. I wish I caught mine earlier so I wouldn't have had to go through chemo, it sucks. I'm not trying to freak you out but all of those symptoms you mentioned I had too, in about 6-7 weeks it'll be a year from when I first felt the pain. I waited like 2 weeks to see my doctors and another 2-3 weeks to get a sonograph and blood test, then another 2 weeks to have it pulled out. I wish I caught it sooner....but what is wishing gonna do now. I hope it works out for you and that you don't need any of it, but if it turns out to be TC just start treatment as soon as possible so you can get it over with. If you're in the Boston area you should consider going to Boston Medical Center and seeing Dr. Oates. He'll take care of you, dude is the urology wizard, one of the best testicular surgeons on the East Coast.

Ive got my release forms signed with pioneer valley urology out here in the boonies in palmer, but its a 10 minute drive, great doctors from my research, and my father also works in healthcare and had his connections. We also have an oncologist who has my info and is ready to take me in as soon as urology gives the nod. Im not freaked out over the potential diagnosis nearly as much as i am over losing one or both of the boys. Its weird, working for an ambulance company and bringing patients over to cancer treatments and then looking at being on the other side. Luckily, ive got a team locally all over this for me now. Im pretty sure at least righty is coming out, that seems to be standard practice with a solid mass. Ill definitely keep you guys posted. And thank you for sharing your symptoms with me. This is all new to me so hearing stories from people in a very similar situation as me is comforting. Amazing how much calm a little certainty can create, even if its not always great news.

I was diagnosed with bilateral seminoma earlier this year. Message me if you have any questions. My pain seems like it was less severe than yours when I first when in but your testing sounds like it might be similar to mine. If you aren't comfortable with your doctor, I would change and goto a specialist.

Have any of you noticed a change in the consistency of semen with the onset or progression of TC? Volume is still the same, but its almost completely clear, I'm guessing due to a low sperm count? I'm not very sexually active now, but even when I was VERY active, this has never happened before.

Great news! I had my second ultrasound today. The left testi is normal and although the mass in the right has evolved into an avascular anechoic mass that had shrunk in some dimensions, The urologist, who has treated several cases of TC said this is not at all a tumor. In cases of infarct, it will originally appear as a solid hypoechoic hypovascular mass and as the tissue dies and the body breaks it down, it appears more as a fluid like mass. What caused an infarct without torsion is still up for question, if I'm throwing clots anywhere, but its not cancer. Thank you all so much for offering your support in uncertain times or for just being here to vent to anyone who was scrolling through. This is a great community and i especially would like to thank mike for opening up such a great resource for those who need it.
