  • Question about radical orchiectomy

I have looked and just can't tell. For this procedure, how deep do they cut? Meaning skin level or abdomen?

They actually remove the tumor through an incision in your groin area roughly centered in the groin. As far as the depth goes, not really sure how deep the cut is only guessing they dont go deep into the muscle layer, only deep enough to cut the cord and pull out the testicle and cord. I know that when i relapsed it was on the remaining stump from the I/O so again it only deep enough into the muscle layer ro remove said cord and testicle.

As always thanks. I was looking up pictures trying to figure out how they do it. And the Dr only told me he will go in above my pubic bone, and the picture I found looks like an incision about 5 to 10cm. But I couldn't tell how deep. But you gave me some perspective.
