  • Going to the urologist on Friday. When it rains it pours

Hi guys, I'm a brand new user.
I'm 32 years old with cured (thank God) hepatitis C and liver cirrhosis.
In December of 2017 I had a dvt after flying which turned into a pulmonary embolism which I was hospitalized for.
I'm still taking blood thinnners. The doctors attributed it to my liver disease and the flying.
About a month ago I noticed a small hard lump on my left testicle, not on the testicle itself but sort of on the skin that encapsulates it (I think it's called the tunica). It's hard and about the size of a tip of a pen.
I started touching and fondling my balls constantly where my right testicle started to hurt really badly.
In my mind I've already concluded that the dvt was caused by the tumor, which caused the embolism.
I have a urologist appointment on Friday and I'm in full freakout mode.
Thank you for this community and I will keep you updated.

Sorry to welcome you here, but, if possible, try to temper your anxiety. TC is very rare and most testicle issues wind up being something other than TC. Hope your next post is a farewell post. Good luck.

Thank you for your kind words but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac with a colorful medical history

Ok so I went to the Urologist and he couldn't feel anything and said if it was serious it would be coming from the testicle itself.
He did want me to go to for an ultrasound to confirm.
I'm still freaking out because I CAN feel it. The doctor is also basically my age.
I guess I'll schedule the ultrasound and see what it brings

Sounds like things are headed in the right direction. Glad that he ordered the ultrasound and if anything, the results can give you some peace of mind or alert you to any concern. Keep us posted.

              Just a quick update:
I am scheduled for an ultrasound later today.
I can barely breathe I'm so nervous.
I'm already imagining the day after diagnosis what my life will look like.

Just try and relax as much as you can. I had the same thing happen to me just a few weeks ago. It's scary, but chances are definitely in your favor! TC is very rare, so chances are it's something else. Keep us updated and let us know what they say!
My story so far: 7/22/2018: Discovery rock hard mass on testicle while on vacation 7/26/2018: Urologist confirms mass; immediately get blood work and ultrasound. 7/31/2018: Ultrasound result show mass in right testicle, "highly suspicious of neoplasm". 8/3/2018: Right I/O 8/7/2018: Pathology confirms 100% seminoma. Multifocal. 2 tumors, both 2.5 x 2.5 x 2cm. LVI present. No cord involvement. 8/14/2018: CT of chest/abdomen/pelvis complete 8/17/2018: CT of chest clear, abdomen shows one lymph node 1.7 x 1.3. Staged IIA 8/22/2018: First radiology appointment, debating surveillance vs 3 weeks radiation

                  Quick update:
Went for an ultrasound. Tech is an old "friend" since I'm constantly scanning being the hypochondriac I am.
My testicles are fine thank God. The lumps I felt were what they call pearls, or hematoma of the testicle area.
I'm so grateful to God and this community and to Mike.
I will stick around because I know the he'll of uncertainty I went through affects a lot of people.

Thanks for letting us know, my guess is you don't need the whole, keep routinely inspections of the boys, given your hypochondriac lifestlye. It might not hlp but I know one too many who hurt themselves over examining. Stay fresh, find the funny!
