Infection or TC 2nd ultrasound today

Husband went to doc after noticing pain & swelling in his right testical a couple months after his vasectomy. Doc said was probly infection and gave antibiotics but did ultrasound to be sure. While doing the U/S the tech said he noticed a cyst or something in an area separate from the infection area. But doc called and said everything was fine and said nothing about a cyst etc. so hubby took the antibiotics and went on with life for a couple weeks and then Doc calls out of the blue and says after re-looking at the U/S they found an intratesticular hypoechoic lesion about 20mm and they want a 2nd ultrasound and blood work. We are now waiting on results of blood work and 2nd ultrasound this afternoon.

Has anyone had this happen could the mass still be related to the possible bacterial infection they thought he had and be gone today? Or is it more likely it’s still there and Doc mis diagnosed and ignored the mass originally?

Thanks so much Mike, Urologist hasn't called to follow up yet but I did get my hands on the original U/S and the bloodwork. Seems to me like the personal that originally read the 1st ultrasound just mislabeled it seems like it has always been Anechoic and not Hypoechoic as told and the size seems basically the same. Radiologist report just says enlarged right testical with Simple Cyst so I am guessing they will just leave it be and got us freaked out for nothing. Blood work all within normal ranges.
    New U/S Original U/S

Yeah, if it were me, I would like to see the actual dictation from the radiologist that interpreted the ultrasound so that I was prepared when I met with the urologist.

Not really. They're pretty common, and usually benign. If it's just a cyst, then breath a little easier and relax. Here's an article to look at regarding cysts in the testicle: https://www.livestrong.com/article/9...ticular-cysts/

Are you saying that the mass shrunk from the 20 mm to now 6.5 mm?

To me, it would seem weird that they "found" the 20 mm mass weeks later as they should have "seen" it at the time of the US.

Any word on the tumor markers?

I should add the doc he went to is the specialist that did the vasectomy and is trained in urology.
