    Site problems?

Is anyone else having severe issues connecting and accessing the site? It almost seems like the servers have connection problems or are under attack?

    Hope this can be resolved!

Edit: More Info: For the past couple of weeks I've been unable to get a response from the forums for days at a time. When it does respond, it usually stops responding after I've had a chance to only load a page or two - a minute or so. It seems to be working today, finally - hopefully this will last!

Yip drop outs and down time - no responses - only hit it over the past week. I tried Chrome and Microsoft browsers and they were the same

What exactly are the issues that have been encountered today (9/4/2015) ? Please describe it.

And what time did you notice it ?

I believe that the issue seen in the last week and a half has been resolved....but I we need to know if any new issues have resulted from the changes made to fix the issue seen in that last week or so..

        Thanks,

Glad to hear/see it's resolved. No problems so far today.

          What was wrong?

It appears that some of the software that is used to secure the website, firewall, and web server was triggering lock-outs.

The rules and configurations to that software was changed to resolve the issue.

That seems to make sense - the long term one has been the length of time to save posts - is the AV checking too much.

around 24 hours ago the site was dead - both the forum and the actual site - I tried a contact us form on the main site to advise of the deadness and that died too. Tonight has been slow. On a plus email notifications are coming through.

I am generally posting in Australian Evening time or around 6:00am New York time however using the system now its not too bad. Could it be time problem with some maintenance occuring on the server? (backups / AV scans)?

It's possible that it's related to maintenance. I'll need to inquire as to exactly what maintenance they are doing, when it kicks off, and how long it typically takes.

                    It could be stuff like:

                    1: Backups (system, database, etc)
2: Database maintenance (Index rebuilds, Statistics updates)
                    3: AV
                    4: Site Re-Indexing

I'll try to find out more.
