RPLND Photo Request

I don't know how you all react to the RPLND images that show up first in a Google search, but I'd love to put up a page that demonstrates that the scar fades in time.

If you had RPLND surgery a while ago and are willing to submit a photo to be posted on a TC-Cancer.com gallery page, please send it to [email protected]. Ideally, these won't be "still life" pictures, but candid shots showing normal life activities.

Well my scar is about 18 years old so I guess you mean people like me. I will send a pic but I think I would like to drop a few pounds first. I'll get my wife to take a picture tonight but if I look tooooo fat you will have to wait.

Scott, I'll check with Brian and see if he has any photos from this past summer. I think it's a great idea! The photos I saw on line before Brian had his surgery, scared the heck out of me!

Hi Scott, Russell's scar would not be the ideal photo. There is talk of having it surgically repaired. The wound stayed open for about 5 months, my belief is it was because of the steroids. It is too bad because he had partial open and parital laprascopic. Considering the surgery, the scar size is impressive. If you think you want those details, let me know, I have a photo. I did send his action photo if you want to do anything with that. For now he has a "manly" scar. thanks Sharon

Here's a picture for you.. It was actually 4 years ago last monday that I had my RPLND... The scar has healed nicely.

Thanks for formatting this file so I can upload it.
It's not pretty friends, but this is a shot of my RPLND while I was still at MSKCC. As many of you know, I went on to take 4xEP, and rode in the Philly Challange that year. It just goes to show you that we CAN recover from the RPLND- it was much more frightening leading up to the surgery.

I'll work on getting an updated picture, so you can see how the scar healed up. (Oh, and the hair came back- remember my funny shaving story??)
