Don't ask...I was spread fairly thin before the TC diagnosis, so I'm not sure how I'm going to balance this all out now. We've put the foster care on temporary hiatus (kind of...we did have a couple kids last weekend, but that was before I started chemo), I'm able to accomplish a lot of writing and layout for work while doing my chemo (Yay wireless!), and my fire chief knows I'm taking some time off. EMT class went well after my first chemo treatment, and it looks like they're going to let me do my clinicals in 4-hour shifts and almost entirely in the ER (rather than the ambulance). I know I'm spreading myself thin, but I'm trying to cut down on a bunch of that stuff!

Thanks to the rest of you for the kind words. I deal with everything - tragic, sad, fearful - with humor, so that's how I'm approaching TC. It's made it easy for everyone but my wife (who, I suspect, knows that I just laugh at stuff when I'm scared. She's a clever one).
            I'm not totally crazy, I'm just half-nuts.

I have a blog about my writing life and about life in general. My most recent post on there is about taking my son who has been just diagnosed with testicular cancer, to a procedure he needed to have pre-op. (April 2012)

Writing! Life! And can the two play nicely?
