  • Can it be happening all over again?

    Hi folks,
I have not been on for a while..My life has kind of been a rollercoaster after my TC. But here I am again looking for some answers.

It's been almost 2 years since I was diagnosed with TC and had the R/O + 2x Carboplatin.
For the past 2-3 months I have been feeling a pain on my left testicle. It has become more and more persistent.
And although it is said the TC symptoms rarely are associated with pain, my TC originally was discovered because of pain.
Now I am terrified that this pain on my left testicle is TC again..or can anything else be causing this pain?
I just relocated to a new city and state so I don't even have doctors yet, but I am doing the research to see a doctor very soon.

    Just worried i guess...

    Hi Eliel,

Yes, lots of other things could be related to the pain, including over-examination, anxiety, infection, etc. It is more likely to be something else than to be TC. If you have felt any physical changes in your remaining testicle then you should go get it checked out, but otherwise just keep up with your monthly self-checks. That said, if the pain continues or worsens then you could go see a doctor and perhaps you could get another ultrasound for peace of mind.

First, at 2 years you are still on surveillance & need to get set up with a doc anyway to continue that. With your history of pain, I would be looking for an U/S sooner rather than later. It's unlikely to be TC, but better to be safe, and whatever is causing the pain may be treatable so why put it off?

Thanks Talis..Yeah I thought at one point it was just my mind and the anxiety but the pain is real and its not due to over examination, I can barely do self-examination because of the pain. So I will get it checked and hopefully it's something other then TC.

Dave - Yes, I am still under surveillance. Now the challenge is finding the right doctors here. I have read they have very good cancer centers but I guess it will be trial and error on which doctor I choose. But I do need to get and U/S soon to determine what is causing the pain.

Thanks for feedback guys! I appreciate it.

If you don't mind me asking...When was your 1st? And when did you discover the 2nd?
