smoking pot during chemo
does smoking marijuana cause worse cancer conditions, or is it safe to smoke during chemotherapy. Does marijuana cause testicular cancer to spread more?

I cant answer the specific medical aspects of pot smoking.
I can tell you that it can help the appetite and nausea.....

Smoking pot won't cause cancer to spread but as an herb it may interfere with the results of your bloodwork. That in itself can have very serious consequences.Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Tell your doc that that is what you want to do- and then can maybe prescribe something. It is a fair and honest question- and you may just enjoy Ativan.

I'd be more concerned about the smoking part, especially if you're on bleomycin, which carries inherent pulmonary toxicity. It is quite possible you might be prescribed Cessamet or Marinol for nausea. Guess what that is? Pot in a pill. Will it get you high? Yeah, probably, but your body is going to get real smart during chemo. It's going to know it needs to almost go into a hibernation mode. So if you're high, you'll probably be sleeping through it anyway. Let the Doc's prescibe what's best for you. You might end up getting what you want legally anyway. And like I said, either way you'll just be sleeping. Beat this ba$t*rd. Focus just on that.

Thank you so much for your opinions, I finally found a site where I feel comfortable to talk about this SHI*. It's been extremely confusing and for a second or two I felt like I was the only one on planet earth with this problem.

I'm glad you found us. It's very comfortable here and we tend to not preach. But don't smoke!!! It's not good for you.
