Its comforting to hear everyone's stories.

So far his family has made him feel stupid (parents and brother) for his continued stress and anxiety since it wasn't as bad as his brothers and in their mind over and done with.

Which is awful, ignorant and cruel. He is struggling with feeling anger and sadness over the experience because he feels like somehow that makes him ungrateful for catching it early

I actually had 1X Carboplatin back on July 25th. I have (had?) stage 1B pure seminoma, with a couple risk factors. Before my I/O, I had elevated bHCG, but I've had 2 good blood tests since then, and have a clean MRI (MRI was ordered to check on some liver cysts) since then. My next blood test/CT scan isn't until the last week of November.

Was talking to my wife about this last night... "Logic" says I have plenty to feel positive about... and I usually do. But, a few time a week, the anxiety levels just go through the roof. On Sunday, my back was aching... and of course you know what came to mind. But I seemed to forget that I rotated the tires on my wife's SUV the day before. Somehow, for me, logic just goes out the window.

Even though your husbands family isn't being supportive, your husband is awfully lucky to have such a supportive spouse.

Let us know the good news on the survelliance as soon as you can!

    John

Thanks John. You are so right about the logic thing. Seems like something else takes over from time to time and no matter what you tell yourself you can't shake the fear.

Yesterday I stated to fell pretty okay about the Scans and bloodwork- feeling confidant all will be well.

Today is the exact opposite. I can't stop playing out the negative possibilities in my head. Feeling convinced something will be wrong. I feel like I am going crazy

My husband couldn't even focus enough to work. He doesn't want to talk about it which I understand but I hate it when he gets quiet. Scares me

I hope one day this wont be so hard.

With 1xBEP the probability is very low of further cancer (SWENOTECA study says about 2-3%; my oncologist said

All clear! Ct non distinguishable from first one and bloodwork all with normal range. Hoping that this was the hardest check since it was the first one post chemo CT and the others will be a little less stressful. Thanks to all for the support

It's a mind game that some deal with better than others. Yes, it is cancer & it CAN be fatal, but unlike most other cancers, for the last 30-40 years the cure rate is in the high 90% range. Try to keep that in mind. He is most likely cured, no reason to think otherwise.
