  • almost 9 months post Orchiectomy ..T levels are great ..however.

    Hey everyone..

just an update with some questions..

Since the Orchiectomy on Feb 11/2011, i have watched my T level go from 8 to 13 and most recently i went up to 23 ...with the target range being 10-30.

Needless to say im pretty stoked about it.

I am enjoying sex with my wonderful girlfriend and couldnt be happier.

I know that with the trauma to my "junk" i can't expect things to be 100 %..especially without it being a year even.

I remember getting more raging boners (hahha) and a higher sex drive. I feel i have to prompt myself more or think of sex to get things going. Fantasize or whatever. DOnt remember having to do that.

Can anyone who is past the 1-2 year mark recall there being a point where things finally returned to normal. Im very fortunate to be in the situation i am in with a woman who is amazingly supportive and could care less if i am 100 % everytime.

Depending on sleep...diet...exercise and stress levels I can usually rise to attention and would like to avoid T therapy until absolutely necessary.

I take Maca root pills, Tribulus Terrestris pills and a multitude of vitamins and have an excellent diet. Those of you who remember me may remember i have a history or marijuana abuse and have began cutting it out of my life lately.

I was wondering if the cause of not being able to maintain a hard on for an extended period is due to damage close to the testicles (radical orchiectomy). WIll this evenutally heal up and form new nerves. blood vessels or will i have to take Cialis or Viagra to stimulate blood flow ???

    Thanks folks .

I dont think any1 knows for sure. It could be psychological. T level alone isnt everything, if its bothering you, check other hormones such as progesterone, IGF-1, Free Testosterone, Estradiol.

One thing though is high FSH correlates to decreased sex drive and well being in TC cancer patients.

I found with TRT my ability to maintain erections increased significantly, being off it now possibly with a level of around 20 or so I cant keep a full erection properly.
    Aged 23 ;; 09/06 left I/O ;; Markers normal ;; 100% Seminoma Stage 1. ;; 10x8x16mm & 7x7x8mm ;; rete testis invasion. ;; no vascular invasion. ;; surveillance. ;; HRT.

      Its a very interesting topic.
I am 31, have been diagnosed TC and had my right orchiectomy 05/24/2016. On surveillance.

So 9 weeks have past and I had sex on third day after IO and then everything with this is normal (sex every day, during sex erection is exellent),exept not very long duration of sexual intercourse (near 3 min after IO and near 7-8 min before IO) and my "morning wood" not so strong as before IO (I have it but not so hard as before, may be lower to 50 % then before IO).

So, my T after 1 month since the Orchiectomy was 534 (still low, before IO it was 760) but I dont have symptom of low T exept my problems with low morning wood and not so long duration of sexual intercourse.I am going check T level soon.

Now I dont have spontaneous erection and dont think about sex as before. But still have my erection during intercourse as before (exept not very long duration of sexual intercourse).
How do you think, may be the couse of my low morning wood and not so long duration of sexual intercourse is the damage close to the testicles (radical orchiectomy) (may be damaged nerves or something like this) and the problem not my low T level?

I have not seen anything relating duration of intercourse to T levels, however I personally have been unable to climax with low T levels, if I was even able to get an erection at all. Maintaining an erection is also a problem with low testosterone. I hate to say this, but if you are ejaculating sooner than you are used to, it's probably a touch of anxiety. Seems to be a catch 22, the more you worry about something,(especially sex), the more likely it is to happen. JMHO.

So, my T level was 541 on 07/21/2016.

I was happy that it raised after my T 534 on 06/21/2016!

But my last test showed only 482!

And it fell down! So,there is no raise

What do you think about such dynamics?

Do I still have chances for raising my T?

Or do I need to start HRT?

T levels vary considerably in most guys, even the time of day can make a difference. What does your doc have to say?

Do you have symptoms of low T level ? If not, HRT may not be indicated.

As Dave pointed out, you could have done your T test 6 hours apart, and you'll get two differents values !

In my opinion, if performance is normal, I would not worry about the other "problems" Unless your desire for sex is so low that your partner is not happy it is not a problem.

Thanks Dave. I don"t have any significant discomfort.May be I need to get used to it.I am just curious about HRT ant its goods.Does it possible to chose such dose of T that don"t influence on my one nut?

In my view, if you start HRT, it will affect your nut production of T. There is a retrofeedback between the brain and the testes. If the blood level of T increase, the brain will send a message down to your testes to slow the production of T to keep the balance.
