  • my son's horomone levels came back out of whack

Grant was 17 when dx. Chemo, than post chemo RPNLD. Finished all treatment in May 2017. He did not have his levels checked prior to TC treatment. Anyway, I requested his levels be tested. I am unable to access his information since he turned 18 earlier this month, but several levels are either too high, or too low. Pedi Oncologist needs to refer us back to his primary family doctor so he can see an adult Endocrinologist.

Any suggestions, I hope to obtain the actual labs next week.
    Thanks

Sorry to hear you've got another thing to worry about. I know hormone levels (Low T) are affected by TC and chemo and I think it takes quite a bit of time for everything to normalize. I would also get your son to sign the HIPPA form to share his information with you and create your own log in to access his records. You'll need permission for every medical office and lab you deal with. Or you can have Clinical Summaries sent to your email and you can establish the account with your credentials. PM me if you want some help getting through this process.

MAMAANG~ thank you for replying. I know you are dealing with your son, so appreciate it even more. I will have him create a patient portal.
When his doctor called me yesterday,I was driving, and could not pull over to write down the info. She is not even certain what the results really mean, as she does not have charts for 18+. She just thinks that with one 2 lower and one higher he needs to be referred. I requested the bloodwork since things seemed "off" for a 17-18 year old. Thank you again.

Good info about study, however, I think it behooves the "experts" to consider the patients age, maybe looking at those dx as teenagers. Not all would recognise horomonal issues.Grant is 7 months out and has glaring signs of possible issues and with messed up labs probably looking at medication.
