  • Post L-RPLND - slightly swollen left leg and back pain

    Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site. It has been 2 weeks since I had my robotic L RPLND.
-My left leg is still slightly swollen and also it is 8f warmer than the other leg. -There is some burning sensation in the left upper thigh.
    - my back hurts if I sleep. So, having problems sleeping.
Are these symptoms expected? Will they go away with time?

Thanks in advance for your answers! God bless!!

I had an open RPLND a week ago and I've been having terrible back pain. I attribute mine to two factors: 1) My tumor had grown into part of my back muscle and my surgeon had to take some of the muscle to get all the tumor; 2) I had terrible muscle spasms post-op.

The swelling in the leg could be lymphodema. Did your surgeon advise you to have a very low fat diet for the first few weeks post-op to help avoid this? It might help. My husband had robotic RPLND and had some swelling in groin and left thigh. It went away after about 8 or 9 days.
