    Regenerating Testicular Tissue

    Hello everybody.

I'm Omar. I got done with my surgery and chemotherapy a month ago i.e. Dec 2014.

I have been paying close attention to the regenerative medicine developments to develop testicles - especially the one on at Wake Forest University under Dr. Atala. I tried to contact them, but got no specific reply.

Here is something really interesting though:
Two professors from the university have already developed 'testicular tissue organoids' as a part of that very project mentioned above.

Google these two things and check the links out:

Sang Jin Lee testicular tissue organoid

    and also

    Colin Bishop testicular tissue organoid

Hope this helps. And I would be glad to get in touch with people who are in the same boat and are hunting for possibilities to replace the missing part sometime in the future.

Is there even a possibility that we could develop testicles in the lab and if so how long would it take for them to come up with the technology?

Maybe in the future. I mean, it may be possible. But I think we're still a long way before regenerating body parts is implemented into medicine.
      3/11/14 - Right orchiectomy
non seminoma - stage IIC 100% embroyal carcinoma
      2 enlarged lymph nodes
      3/31/14-5/27/14 - BEPx3
lymph nodes decrease in size but still about 3 cm each
7/16/14 - RPLND - found only dead cancer

There is a real possibility of regenerating organs even with 3d printers, these have been used recently for some body part replacements, in terms of growth in the last two week here in Australia there was news of Doctors with the use of stem cells being able to regrow part of a guys jaw.

Are you saying 3D printers can generate living tissue? I have not heard of this, only non-living parts as in joint replacement,

Along these lines, there's real work going on to apply 3D printing for breast reconstruction, which I learned about during the LIVESTRONG Foundation's Big C competition last fall.

Wow, had no idea they had come this far. Still a ways away from printing replacement parts, but certainly further along than I imagined....
