    Here we go again?

So I've been having some increasingly noticeable dull aches again in my remaining testicle. And low T symptoms (and a low-end-of-normal reading a month ago). And then over the weekend I notice some possible subtle anomalies - the remaining testicle is not quite as uniformly soft and smooth as I remember and feels a bit odd. Cue sinking feeling... :-(

Off to get an ultrasound scan tomorrow, hopefully, and here's hoping that it's just my mind playing tricks. Or that it's something benign and fixable. But somehow it doesn't seem like I'll get off that lightly.

    Hey ho.

If you don't feel a lump or something that's completely obvious, I wouldn't worry about it too much. A few months back my remaining was kind of sore for no reason so I of course flipped out. I went and had an ultrasound but everything turned out okay. I know it's hard to not freak out. Trust me, every little ache I get, I always think the worst. But getting testicular cancer twice is super rare. Hang in there man, I'm sure you'll be okay!

Thanks, man. We'll see. Am hoping there's nothing to be seen. Maybe it's just a scar from the biopsy they did at the same time as my left I/O.

Feeling pretty grotty, though, and if my T levels have dropped even more then maybe it's time to push for TRT.

T - Keep the faith and know that you're doing what you can to correctly address the situation. As Daniel said above, sometimes the body just aches for no distinguishable reason. It can be tough to take that approach given that we've all had an ache or something unusual that led us to a TC diagnosis. However, remember that you've come so far already and know that nothing is confirmed until it's confirmed. Sending prayers and best wishes your way for the ultrasound tomorrow!
3/16/15: Urologist visit for suspicious lump. Tumor markers negative. Ultrasound showed solid mass.
        3/18: Radical left I/O.
3/24/15: Pathology: 100% EC w/ LVI present. Chest CT clear, Abdo CT shows 3 enlarged nodes (1.0, 1.1, 1.6cm). Clinical Stage IIA.
5/4/15: Primary (open) RPLND w/ Dr. Foster at IU. 34 nodes removed, only 2 had presence of EC. Pathological Stage IIA.
        June 2015: First ALL CLEAR!
        August 2015: ALL CLEAR!
September 2015: Post-RPLND baseline CT scan ALL CLEAR! Lymphocele measuring 9x5x5cm was noted, surgeon said it was harmless and should resorb within a year.
November 2015: Bloodwork and chest x-ray clear
February 2016: Bloodwork, chest x-ray, CT scan clear
July 2016: Bloodwork, chest x-ray clear (CT scan in September)

I had an ultrasound on my remaining testicle a few days before my rplnd - I was CONVINCED that it had spread. It hadn't, everything was normal. The ache in the remaining testicle is fairly normal...never heard anyone give any definitive explanation for it, but have heard of plenty of people that have it after having a testicle removed. Mine still aches from time to time. Let us know what you find out - good luck!

Good news, it seems - ultrasound looked clear, fortunately. (Though it was a fairly cursory scan - in and out in about three mins!) Still not convinced I'm in a good place in terms of testosterone, though. Hopefully will have another reading taken in a couple of weeks and we'll see. Also, just a bit confused by what's causing the ball ache - fairly constant for the past week or so. But there was nothing to see on the ultrasound, which is the main thing. Phew.

That's awesome brother. I can't speak to the testosterone thing but that's great news on the ultrasound. As far as the ache in the remaining testicle, it's common enough that I'd have thought there would be more information available on what may cause it, but I can never find anything online.

T - That's great news about the ultrasound. Being proactive is what makes us survivors in the first place, so it's never a bad thing to listen to your body and report anything unusual. I am 1 month post-RPLND and have leg pains and aches. The surgeon told me this was a possibility, although they have no idea why since there are no nerves related to the legs that they touch during surgery. He said the body has a funny way of doing things like this. Pain can appear and disappear for any number of reasons, even those that have no explanation. His advice was to listen to your body, note anything that seems odd, and never be afraid to speak up. It sounds like you've done just that and gotten good news as a result.

Wow... what a relief. I actually think about posts like this at work and hope that they work out. That is the great thing about this forum. Every time someone is going through a test, a scan, or routine blood work you have a line of soldier on here that are ready to back you up! Glad everything worked out!

One theory I've heard about aches in the remaining guy is that he is working hard to keep the T levels up without any help from the missing guy.I'

m not sure if that's trule, but it does make some sense.
