  • Back pain on surveillance

My first CT scan since my all clear is this week and getting pretty nervous. Noticed some lower back pain the past week thatís got me freaked. It comes and goes for the most part which has me thinking itís probably unrelated (or caused by stress.) What type of back pain should I be concerned with? I imagine it would be constant if it were caused by a tumor.

I'm sure with how much you are thinking of that scan can cause the pain. After I was first diagnosed I never had any pains leading up to it and once I heard the news I was hurting everywhere, and I was stage 2a. I'm sure that's it. Good luck

I was 2a as well and when Iím not thinking about it it seems to go away but when I do it comes back. Really seems like a mind over matter thing.

Also when I massage it or my girlfriend does it helps which to me screams muscular issue.

Most likely nothing. You get hyper sensitive to aches and pains near dr appointments!

I feel Iíve honestly bruised my back from rubbing it so much lol. Just ready to get this appointment over with. Einhorn has told me 0 chance of persistent cancer with my post chemo results so I have been hanging on to that. My own doctor said we just need to look out for cysts and teratomas at this point.

Keep in mind that back pain is one of the most common complaints of human beings everywhere. It takes a fairly large tumor to cause pain & that is unlikely to develop in between surveillance appointments.
