  • Chest CT AND Adomen/pelvis CT near 2 year mark

    Hi guys

Its been awhile. Doing fine after 1xBEP for my nonseminoma. I'm near the 2 year mark (May) and so have my 2nd annual CT scan coming up tomorrow. I switched doctors mainly because my doctor left my hospital. This new doctor is suggesting I do both a abdominal CT scan and a chest CT scan. I'm a little unsure if I should do the chest CT scan. It might be just additional tests to do additional tests. There is a small chance it could jump to the lung. The NCNN guidelines just say chest xray and adominal/pelvis scan.

Little worried about the radiation from the scans frankly. Any advice would be much appreciated.

yeah, no reason to do a chest CT instead of a chest x-ray. My doc switched from ab/pelvis CT + chest CT to the ab/pelvis CT + chest xray at my request after about 8 months of surveillance. Just voice your concerns and point to the guidelines.

Yeah, a chest CT would be an unusual choice.
      Good luck with everything!

No evidence of relapse since, but plenty of anxiety about it.

Congrats on almost 2 years out mark! the new NCCN guidelines are what I would refer to for post treatment plans. I have not yet looked at them at yet.
