  • Spread to Adrenal Glands?

    Hello,

Just looking for any info that some of the "in the" know people might be able to share with me based on my latest appointment with my GP today. To make a long story short I was seeing the doctor for some symptoms I thought related to stress (been an extra stressful few years and compounded this year). He became concerned based on my TC history (100% seminoma with right I/O in 2015) that there might be some spread of cancer to my adrenal glands which are the actual cause of the symptoms. To be clear he thinks stress is the more likely cause but is doing his due diligence (which I'm happy for). He will also be contacting the urologist who is overseeing my treatment to discuss. I was a little surprised to hear this concern as I don't recall ever coming across the adrenal glands as a landing spot for TC.

Just looking to see if anyone has heard of this actually happening before (I didn't see anything on google) or if there might be any insights to add.

Thanks so much for the help.

I think I’ve pretty much covered the internet about TC and I don’t recall seeing that ever. I had TC that spread to my subclavical portion of my neck. I don’t know for sure since I am not an expert but I will assume if they think it is a concern they will do the normal blood markers and CT scan to clear you and send you back into the land of cancer free.

Thanks surfhb! That was kind of the conclusion I had come to as well but it can be tricky to convince the emotional response part of the brain. My GP got back to me and let me know that my urologist has never read any link in the literature that would give him concern about spread to the adrenal glands.
