Ron, sorry you need to go through this. Your pathology is very different from mine, so I'm not much help. Very few people look for new posts in the member profile section like you have here. I suggest you copy and paste your info into a New Thread on the main page of the forum, in the Treatment after Orchiectomy......section. Welcome, and I hope you find what need.
Hi all, I would like to ask something that severely bothers me. I was diagnosed with TC (path: 55% choriocarcinoma 25% immature teratome, 10% embryonal carcinoma, 10% seminoma) with VLI. The CAT scan did not find anything and I was diagnosed to be at stage 1. Considering this aggressive pathology I was offered to take 2 courses of BEP. So two weeks after the orchiectomy I started this treatment. Now here is the problem: AFTER the end of the first cycle, the oncologist noted that at the day that I started the chemo my beta-HCG was elevated (43). Since she didnt want to take risks she is now changing my staging to be stage 1S which means that I now have to take 3 cycles of BEP. My decline was from ~2500 before the orchiectomy to 450 four days after, 124 a week after the orchiectomy, and finally 43 two weeks after the orchiectomy. I will really appreciate if those with positive markers before the orchiectomy could indicate their decline after the orchiectomy. Many thanks, Ron
