Change in fat Distribution?

Hey guys,

Is it common for guys to undergo a change in fat distribution after an orchidectomy? I know there can be a tendancy to gain fat, but i was trying to explain the body changes I have had and the once was just totally missing the point.

I weight train reguarly and havent really had any trouble putting the muscle back on, but what i have noticed is a change in fat distribution, for me typically if i was the weight I am now pre surgery, i would have just had a uniform fat distribution, with a chubby face, and legs etc. However now I am about 15 pounds over weight, or at least compared to my usual weight, but I have ripped legs and a chisled jaw, and all the 15 pounds are basically on my gut lol. Ive had my testosterone checked and am awaiting th results any day now. Its not really a life altering issue and if anything I can get away with carrying a few pounds because my face is so thin lol. But i was just curious as to other peoples experiences.

The impact on fat distribution after an I/O is likely non-existent. Have your eating and exercise habits changed since then? Keep in mind that you also had chemo, so who knows if that may have had an effect.

I think Fed is right unless you have a extremely elevated Beta-HCG. I was told at IU that that hormane can cause fat redistribution, just like in pregnant women. Thanks to this, I have nice "man bosoms" to keep me occupied when I am bored and alone....

Thanks for the replies guys, it wasn't really bothering me just more curiosity I guess, and my HCG levels have never been that high, they were only minimally elevated before my I/O and they were wll within normal 2 months ago. I had them checked this week and get the result on Monday, but from the sounds of it its probably the chemo. I guess i should stop letting it surprise me... after all it gave me a mustache for the first time in my life and then cruelly took it away again within two weeks lol. No man boobs though... my gut just looks like im middle aged and am hitting the pub pretty hard lol.

Mate, Weight around your middle can be a result of lower testosterone, for real since I have been on the Testosterone most of the preggy belly I had has dropped off. You could check out your T levels, but it could just b your eating habits too?

Hi everyone,
This is my first post in these forums.
I'm 23yo and i lost my right testicle to cancer I/O in September this year.
Post surgery i had the hematoma gig and yeh it was pretty big.
Was back in the hospital for a week cathertised as i could not pee, taking morphine, endone, panadol and antibiotics. They tried taking it out to send me home but i still couldnt pee and spent a good 15minutes pounding on the back of the wall in the most pain ive ever been in my life while my bladder was stretching with a litre of pee before the nurse doctor fella came and recathertised me. Then when i went home after that week i had a couple of days of cathertising myself which really hurts when your so swollen. Many weeks of painkillers and 3mnths later im here still waiting for this stuppid hematoma to go away. But yeh im not saying this to complain.
After reading some of these forums i realise how lucky i am (my tumour was contained not vascularised and im not requiring chemotherapy thus far, cancer proteins returned to normal levels, and im now on survillance). Im also aware of how lucky i am in terms of other types of cancers and diseases that people get. I really hate how young kids get cancer it is so terrible. Anyhow, this process is certainly a mindjob for me, im sure it is for everyone. But yeh, theres good and bad days.
I havent gone back to work yet, as i am just waiting for the hematoma to recover, it sure is taking its time. Ive started going back to the gym (i was a regular before this happened, also a basketball player since i was 8yo, havent gone back to that yet) and i am struggling to have the energy/strength i once had. I guess i have to take it slowly while i still have this hematoma but its extremely frustrating. I havent been eating too much and my diet has aways been good.

I have certainly noticed this redistribution of weight too. I feel like i have manboobs happening now, the have been more sensitive since the testicle was inflamed pre-I/O but now i feel the fat depositing on them and on my gut too and yeh its terribly disenfranchising/unmotivating when im at the local gym and my bros and friends i had (but dont know what ive been through) are lifting what i used to be able to but cant anymore. I feel like im only half a man now. And its terribly painful emotionally to me as i have 3 healthy brothers that i love and still live with 2 of them, whom just remind me of what i was. Basically i will be trying everything to return myself to be able to do what i used to be able to do 3months ago. If that means possibly seeking testosterone treatment then ill be getting my T-levels tested as soon as this hematoma f**cks off, excuse the french. Anyhow i guess this was just abit of a brief/release to introduce myself.

You guys are really helpful and true warriors (compared to gym bunny warriors)
