New guy with questions

Hello everyone,

I recently was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer.
In short order I had a orchietomy w/follow-up CT scans.
The path report read that it was Stage 1 seminoma with a necrotic tumor.

The CT scans of the abdomen and pelvis came back clear but a small 5-mm ground glass nodule was found in one of the lobes of the lungs.

I was curious, what the nodule might mean. Of course, I have a follow-up scheduled next week with my Urologist who will explain further. But I'm a tad bit concerned w/that nodule...does anyone know if it is truly a concern?

I wouldn't worry too much about the lung spot. You'd be surprised how many people have them. I believe the number is someplace around 10% of the general population have lung spots unassociated with any disease. Of course in your case it needs to be watched but it's likely nothing.

Hi there...definitely, they'll keep an eye out on that nodule to make sure it doesn't increase in size. If it's any consolation - just as dadmo said - lung nodules are not uncommon. Andy's got one that's less than a centimeter that has remained stable in his last three CT scans. Stay vigilant with your surveillance and fire away with any other q's.
