Did have some from time to time after TC 1 - often after some sexual activity. There was also a nerve that was looked at with TC #2 that seems to solve things.
Cheers

Hi all new to the forum but my guy is worrying like hell so thought I should join in - he has had pain since surgery in November - been checked and the oncologist is happy, but pain was the only symptom when the tumour was discovered last year so very worried about recurrence although I know this is rare! Wondering if we should push for an ultrasound?
Hi Angepet,
Scrotal pain after IO won't be due to a recurrence and is more likely to be due to cutting the nerves during surgery. That's why they remove the testicle through the groin to avoid any possibility of contaminating that area. The testicle itself is surrounded by a thick fibrous material which is rarely breached by TC - they always check to make sure that this is intact when they examine the removed testicle.
Where about are you in Yorkshire?
16 Dec 09 2.7 cm mass
18 Dec 09 Right I/O
Mixed germ cell - EC, chorio, seminoma
5 Jan 10 CT scan - negative; Stage 1b
3 Mar 10 CT scan - positive nodes; Stage IIa
29th March to 11th June 4xEP
Neutropenic sepsis after cycle 4 of EP
Post treatment CT scan - complete resolution
24 month follow-up - all clear
Where precisely is the pain? I ask because I had very specific pain in two areas after my first IO: Intermittent pain in the IO incision itself last for at least a year after surgery and throbbing pain last several months in the area where the spermatic chord was severed.

TC1: 1996, right orchiectomy, seminoma stage I 3.5 cm mass, radiation therapy (peri-aortic & pelvic 27.3 Gy)
TC2: 2008, left orchiectomy, seminoma stage IA 5 cm mass, left & right prostheses, AndroGel TRT, surveillance at MSKCC
Hi Alex
For me was around the but slightly lowwer than the IO incision. The uro checked out a nerve on TC number two (also when the spare parts went in), its gone since then. There is a body nerve diagram on this page http://www.doctorspiller.com/herpes_zoster.htm (looked here as Shingles follows nerves)
Cheers

Hi
We are in West Yorks near wakefield and had treatment at Yorkshire Cancer centre. The pain is in the scrotum and remaining testicle mainly - as I say we had it checked but the docs although unconcerned seemed unable to offer an explanation. We are also in that worrying phase just after treatment so perhaps a bit paranoid! Due for a chest xray bloods and clinic in may, but it's six months now since surgery and most other people we have spoken to seem to be ok, so thats why I've come looking for some reassurance.
thanks for all responses its good to hear from people in the same or similar boat!
Nice part of Yorkshire. My wife's from Sheffield and my daughter goes to Huddersfield University - although based at the Barnsley complex.
Post surgery pain is variable - but be reassured that it will have nothing to do with TC coming back.

Thanks for the reassurance - hope your chemo is going ok!
btw I sometimes get phantom pains in my left testicle - clearly there are no nerves as it is a silicone one!![]()
100% classical seminoma (I-A, RTI). Surveillance (no adjuvant therapy). 4 years all-clear and hoping for many more.
I still sometimes get a phantom pain after 18 months (in the left now gone) - however only for a few seconds - not persistant
