    Still going strong

Nick's hanging in there through Cycle 2 (delayed for a week because of low white cells & platelets). Eating well, drinking plenty of water, no nausea at all. At this point, he's only experiencing fatigue.... and a bit of coughing. He seems to have a very good attitude---today he talked about trying to work out a bit. He will be giving himself Neupagen shots after this cycle. Any experience with that? Heard it can cause bone pain.

Yes, the neupagen shots can cause bone pain. The doc told us it meant the drug was working. Wow, he's a trooper to give himself shots.

I had Neupogen shots. They caused some pain in the front of my calves. It was not too severe at all. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

The hospital offered to show Kath, my wife, how to give me the shots, but I opted to go to my doctor's surgery to have them.

He won't bat an eye. My Dad was a diabetic & had Nick giving him insulin shots when Nick was 4. During chemo today, a coule of the nurses were marveling over how many TC patients they are currently treating! It seems like this stuff is increasing at an alarming rate

I thought that, too, until I had to give myself octreotide injections in 2005. You do what must be done!

Steve had Neupogen shots but never complained of bone pain. I was grateful that he didn't have it. He had enough to deal with at that time. So happy that this cycle seems to be going well. Keeping the prayers coming................Cheryl

Nathan had to take GCSF on several occasions throughout his treatment. It usually caused some bone aching and slight cold-like symptoms. But in the grand scheme of things wasn't much to bat an eye at.

Diagnosed June 2009. Stage III (mets to lung and 2 brain lesions). Orchidectomy, 4XBEP, Brain surgery, Brain radiation, 3XTIP, 1XHDC (with stem cell transplant). Passed away February 13, 2010.
