20 y.o, my lone testicle is acting up...

hi guys ill try and keep this short. im 20 y.o, had test. cancer 2 years ago and lost my right testicle and had 3.5 months of chemo. ive been getting CT scans every 3 or so months and monthly blood work and everything has been fine until recently. my lone testicle has been randomly feeling tender/sore. it comes and goes throughout the day. im worried the cancer has come back. i have my monthly checkup coming up so ill find out then but does anyone know what else this could be?

also, both sides of my groin have a red rash looking thing that is a little flaky. i know, gross..but what is it? thanks in advance.

    Hey Mate

If you fell into the few thet had a second TC then the best way to keep an eye on this would be with a regular selkf check, you bloods., CT etc would be unlikly to show anything at the early stages,

For you this sounds like an Infection (maybe fungal?), allergy or other I would get the doc to check it you to get it corrected sooner than later.

    Cheers

There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding an occasional ultrasound to your surveillance routine. Some guys here get one annually, or so, on their surviving testicle. I got one at the one year mark.

That being said, it is rather funny how everything acts up and feels sore just before an oncologist visit. I never hesitate to bring up all the stuff, but most of it goes away upon an "All Clear". There is also the possibility that you are checking it often? That could cause soreness.

All to say that it could be a good many things prior to another presentation in the other testicle. Bring it up to the doc but don't worry too much and don't be scared to push for the ultrasound.
    Best,

    Zsolt

Hey I will just comment on the rash bud, like Kiwi says it most likely a fungal infection, commonly known as jock itch. It's so common probably most guys have had one or more times. You treat it with an off the shelf topical cream called Canesten. I would personally give that a go, also keep the area Really! clean and dry. 2 showers a day lots of cream a week or 2 it's gone. Another way to perhaps know if it is jock itch, is there a gross smell kinda sweaty body smell that is stronger than normal in the area? Regarding the testicle pain I recommend a check up with the doctor and ultrasound this will give you piece of mind.
