Hi Folks,
Not sure whether this was the right forum or not but here goes. I have just had my second primary seminoma removed after having the original one treated in May 2000. I have been made aware how rare this is, (1% of first primarys have the second develop), so part of me now feels priveledged to be included in this elite club.
As with the first one, my prognosis is again quite favourable, and it looks like I will get away with surveillance at this stage. I'm sure that I have my lack of uneasiness about talking to medical professionals about sensitive issues to thank for that. I know that some of you guys have had to put up with hell in your follow-up treatments especially in parts of the world where there is a substandard health system. (Australia really is the lucky country).
Anyway, just thought I would post my first comment and let you guys know that there are more of you out there, and that we will always share a special bond even if we don't ever meet.
Lindsay.
