    Routine Check Up - Texas

I recently moved to Midland, Texas and I am overdue on my yearly check up. Does anyone have a recommendation on a doctor around Midland?

Welcome to the group. I can recall some members in the Odessa/Midland and Dallas areas, but we haven't heard from them in a while and I don't recall any mention of specialists. There is a cluster of members in the Houston area, many of whom have gone to MD Anderson, but that's a long haul for you. How long have you been surviving? If a while, I would like any reputable oncology practice could handle surveillance.

Thanks Paul. I've been clear for 4 years and I've been looking for a new specialist in Texas. I will call a few specialists in Midland.

If you can get to Dallas, here's the best guy to see up there, from my research in Texas:

Or, I would call/email Dr. Thompson at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio and ask who he would recommend in that area. He's a super nice and knowledgeable urologist, and I'm sure he'd be happy to point you in the right direction:

I have a client who had TC and is in Midland. He elected to be treated there and didn't go to Houston or Dallas. Let me know if you want me to ask him. Please send me an e-mail: morganpbrown [[at]] gmail.com

in san antonio, as said before.. dr ian thompson at the ctrc part of the ut health system. however, thompson is no longer taking patients and is not practicing any longer as he is the president of the cancer center now. the doctor i have not is parekh, very good as well and i recommend him without reservations. contact info is dr dipen parekh medical arts research center 210-450-9600 and for an oncologist at ctrc john sarantopoulus 210-450-5790 is the contact to his office. hope this helps. call the ACS and see about transport and lodging assistance while you are here...
