Will I be eating turkey on Christmas day

Got my one shot of carbo on the 23rd Dec at 14:45.

How do you think Christmas Day will be for me? Is it ok to be round lots of family too?

    wuzzbert,

Although I had BEP and not carbo, I would still think turkey will sound good 2 days later. As for being around the family, just be cautious by washing hands ect. and everything should go smoothly.

    Enjoy your holidays.

Carbo should be no problem. You may feel somewhat tired and like you have a cold, but nothing else should be different.

I also only had BEP but my appetite increased when I was taking chemo. The only days I felt bad was the weekend after 5 day treatment, and even then it was only hangover'ish.

    Turkey

We will both be eating it. The question is whether either of us will be keeping it down.

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I'm having my second carbo the very same day as you. If it's like my first dose a few weeks ago I plan to eat as much of whatever I want and share the day with family. It was pretty uneventful. But no two people react exactly the same so "your mileage may vary". Take your meds and drink lots of boring fluids. Your immune system should be pretty OK 2 days after but be extra wise to avoid anybody who is obviously sick.

I had 2 rounds of carbo in august/september this year. It was pretty uneventful. Took the anti-nausia meds fro 3 days after each treatment as a pre-cautionary thing. Other them a warm feeling in my stomach and a canker sore, I never had any problems. I wish you the best.

Yeah, I am sure you will be eating Turkey and hopefully lots of it (and maybe a sprout or two). I felt a bit grubby and hungover for about 4 days or so afterwards but the one thing that did not diminish was my appetite, in fact quite the opposite, and I treated myself to whatever I wanted as well.

    Merry Christmas.

    Hi,

Everyone is different but my sickness kicked in 3 days after my shot of chemo, after that I wasnt too bad.

Enjoy your turkey and more importantly enjoy your Christmas.

    All the best.
