tips on post-RPLND bent over walking?

hi folks - i know i've heard a lot about how the RPLND makes you walk bent over and that it hurts the back, which is where Will is at right now (a little over a week post RPLND). just wondering if anyone had any tips on whether there is anything you can do to help that or facilitate recovery from that? does it help when the staples come out? Other than that, he's in very good shape.. best, embee

I am 9 weeks out. I can now walk straight. I even did hiking this weekend and almost died. I tried everything to speed it up. Nothing really helped other than time. Don't push yourself too much, but walking is generally a good idea. I was more straight after a long walk. Listen to your body.

Just needs time. Dr. Sheinfeld at MSKCC informed me that lower back pain from not being able to stand up straight is reported with about 75% of his RPLND patients. I'm coming up on 4 weeks post op and can just about stand up straight, so my lower back pain is going away. If you can get them, Lidoderm patches work great. My insurance won't cover them so we were just going to get some out of pocket, but now my lower back pain is just about gone so maybe we won't bother.
