    6 Months Today!

Almost didn't realize it, but I was out walking at lunch tracing back through time. They didn't find anything during the RPLND, which meant that the end of May after chemo was my official all clear and that the surgery just confirmed it. End of May plus 6 months equals the end of November, which is today. Woohoo!

Have been doing pretty darned good. I have most of my strength back but just not the endurance, which isn't too bad considering I only got the OK to start exercising again a month and a half ago. Can run a little. Walked 3 miles at lunch. Most of my aches and pains are gone. Neuropathy is fading especially with the bad shooting nerve pain I used to get. Still have a fair amount of numbness in my left foot but I can live with that. The only thing really outstanding at the moment is the situation with my kidneys, from that stupid lymphocele. They're at least stable for now but being monitored. I just sent my renal scan imaging up to Sloan for Dr. Sheinfeld and Dr. Sandhu to take a look at, and will get a plan of action if anything within the next few days hopefully.

New job is going well, having fun with the kids, Christmas tree is up, life is good, and knocking on wood right now praying that it stays that way.

Isn't this the best part? Awesome on the 6-month progress. It looks like things are slowly getting back to normal.

    Hey, congratulations!

I know what you mean about the forgetting about it part. I was thinking last night and actually made myself a reminder to schedule my one-year followup at the end of January. I was afraid that if I didn't write it down, I would forget to do it.

Thanks everybody! Posted an update on my CaringBridge site with some additional tid-bits. No big celebrations here. Am waiting for the big 1 year and am definitely going to throw a party then, but don't want to do anything to jinx it in the meantime. Switched my computer desk to a solid wood table, so very easy to knock on it when needed, like right now.

Evtrai - since they didn't find anything during my RPLND other than necrotic tissue like yours, I'm counting from the end of chemo and not the RPLND. That was now just surgical confirmation of having been all clear from the chemo. If you count from the RPLND yeah I'm at 5 months only, but heck maybe I'll celebrate hitting 6 months again next month too.
