    Need help, please!!!!!

    Hello,

Some background infomation 17 years old , althetic play soccer all year round. I noticed a real small pinhead bump on top of my left testicle after I shaved my pubic area. It doesn't hurt at all. This was about a month ago when I first noticed, it could have been there for months until I shaved and noticed it. Anyways moving on I had dull aches for a bit, only when I am really thinking about it. They got bad during one soccer practice had to stop for a bit.

Drinking more water and taking advil helped a bunch. Right now the pain has mostly gone away totally. It maybe comes back once a day just real quick barely notice it.

When I first noticed the small bump, I also discovered a lump or bump on top of the left testicle as well. I can pull it back and feel the left testicle and everything is fine besides pin head bump. It's almost like something is swollen. I read somewhere if you shine a light through it its just a cyst or something. I had difficulties loacating to shine a light on.

It is visible when moving the testicle around. Kind of has a black color to it or dark.

I told my father about a week after. He said just keep an eye on it, also said it could just be an infection or maybe a hernia. Should I push the issue more? I am pretty worried at the moment.

So to sum it up, I have a really small pin head bump on top of testicle, and semi movable bump of veins on top and side of left testicle. Its almost like a vieny bump with another vein going down the side.

    Anything is appreciated! Thanks!

Here is some info on how to do a self exam:

    http://www.tc-cancer.com/about/self-exam.html

    From that page:
If you find a lump, see a doctor right away. The abnormality may not be cancer, but if it is, the chances are great it can spread if not stopped by treatment. Only a physician can make a positive diagnosis.

Alright, but what is this structure that is "swollen" that is on top of the left testicle, it seems to be connected by a vien that goes down the side of the testicle.

Sounds like the epididymis, from your description.

I suspect, but of course can't be certain, that what you're feeling is the epididymis, as Dave said, and possibly the appendix testis.

    Hey there,

I noticed the same kind of thing on top of my left testicle a few months ago. Because I already had testicular cancer on my right side, I was pretty worried about it and went to the doctor. They did an ultrasound and found that there was a small cyst on the epididymis on my left side. It's totally harmless and didn't require any treatment -- but it did freak me out a little bit.

Why not go to your family doctor and have them check it out? My guess is that yours is probably a cyst (or some other harmless thing) but then at least you'll know for sure and you won't have to worry about it anymore.

    Hang in there!

When I do the exam as the women shows, the swollen ball I was talking about before isn't there. It seems to be the epididymis, but none the less it isn't visible and I cannot feel that. Moving on its just now the pinhead bump at the top of my left testicle that annoys me. I noticed it 4 weeks ago, and I don't know how long it was there for. As I said before I noticed it after I shaved the region.

Any ideas on this pinhead lump or bump? Is there a difference between lump and bump?

Are you sure the bump you're talking about is on your testicle? Or is it on the skin (on your actual scrotum)? I ask because I think I saw another user on here a while back who had a bump on his scrotum, I think either from razor burn from shaving or maybe an ingrown hair? Just an idea.

[QUOTE]Nah this little sucker is on the top of the left testicle.

Then you should get it checked....

Tell your Dad you need to get an ultrasound, just to be on the safe side.
He's right---it could be an infection, or nothing, and very likely is,
but it also is a symptom of TC and shouldn't be ignored.

No difference between a bump and a lump except for one letter!

What else could it be though a pin head bump attached to testicle? I feel terrible atm

Me again, I have a doctors about set up within a week with my normal Doctors office. Finally. But now I have to wait. What else could this be, its hard defo attached to testicle. It feels about the size of a good sized pimple. Also that swollen lump that I talked about before shows up sometimes but I can pull that back from the testicle itself. I am not a worreid about that one but will point it out to the doctor.

I am just worried they won't be able to feel it as it is hard to find when the scrotum isn't relaxed. Any tips?

Your doc has much more experience than you do looking for these things, trust he/she will figure it out. Stop worrying, you have done all you can at this point, now you have to wait. That can be the worst part of the journey, but there is no choice, you have to wait, so might as well decide to just be patient & wait. It's not like there is any other choice.....

I just went to my GP or normal doctor, and she said it was a varicose vein (sp) and that I could get it fixed if I wanted too. I told her my concerns about cancer and that I was worried and she said "No, don't worry its not cancer." I asked her twice if she felt the small pinhead bump and she said if I was to raise my testicles above my head ( Harder than it sounds) that It would feel much softer, and thats what would confirm.

I am so relieved. It was a stressful four weeks.

Thanks for all the replys and responses here. I hope I never have to come back here

    Thanks again.
