Surveillance question

Quick questions:

I set up my appt for my first surveillance tests and scans and I see that I am set to have a ct of the chest and abdomen. I was always under the impression that I would have a CT of the abdomen but xray of the chest like I did before the I/O. Does this seem right? Just want to make sure the nurse who set everything up didn't misread docs instructions.

If you're getting a CT you dont need the X-ray. A CT scan is just a bunch of X-ray pictures layered on top of each other. The rotational motion of the scanner makes the target area clearer while blurring the surrounding area. A CT scan can also create a three dimensional view of the organ that is being scanned.

If this is your first post-I/O CT, then a CT of the chest is being ordered to use as a baseline.
