    First round complete

Monday - wednesday was a breeze. Thursday and Friday I didn't think I could go back. My sickness was awful. I am getting emend and Aloxi but both seem to make me sick. The only anti-meds I'm getting is Ativan. It just puts me to sleep. I really am not sure how I'm going to make two more rounds. Anyone have a secret food that can keep me sane until round 2?

Sorry man! End of my first week sucked too, but you'll make it! 1/3 down! As far as foods, not much tastes good, but found I always enjoyed Lucky Charms cereal, mashed potatoes and pea soup. Oddly I could also enjoy the occasional greasy burger. Everyone seems to be different, but Lucky Charms never let me down. I probably hadn't had that cereal for 20 yrs prior. Good luck and it will get better!

Tell the doctor or nurses. There are plenty of other things they can give you to help with the nausea. As far as food, it changed all the time. Just eat what sounds appetizing. I stayed away from greasy foods. Applesauce tasted awesome. Jello was good. I would also chug an Ensure (chocolate) every now and then.

You can make it through all 3 rounds.
Mint choc ice cream and hard candies worked well for my metallic mouth. Fruit flavor lifesavers and sour jolly ranchers did the trick.

I just finished my first week of EP. I feel your pain brother. My appetite has changed daily. One of the things that's stayed constant is chococlate milk, pudding & jello.

Hang in there. We're with ya.

Greasy foods: corn dogs, pizza, taquitoes, kraft dinner, hot dogs, etc. Albeit those foods aren't for everybody on chemo but it's what I'm craving these days. Just thinking about beef & cheese taquitoes mmm.

So far the two things that are go to for me are mashed potatoes and for the metallic and sickness lemons. I know lemons...but it's working. I don't think the Ativan is working anymore.

Since I finished my first 5 days last week of the 1st cycle I’m only able to eat unhealthy food ! Pizza, fast food and similar stuff are the only things that don’t give me nausea while I’m eating … I don’t why.

I would suggest not to stay in closed and dark rooms. Go out, walk, stay in nature, do some easy exercise, hang out with friends … do stuff that will not remind you that you are going through chemo. Be occupied with others things.

Austin felt pretty good until days 4 and 5 of the first week as well. Days 6 and 7 he slept 23 hours. As soon as he was put on Kytril, he never got sick again from the chemo the next two rounds. We pretty much let him eat whatever he wanted, but during those long weeks comfort food was a big hit.

    Hope things improve!!
