Is Carboplatin AUC 6 used for seminoma stage IA?

    Hello guys,

I had one dose of carboplatin today, about 4 hours ago. So far so good, like expected.
My onc doc told me that he would rather use 2 doses of AUC 6 than 1 dose of AUC7.

They used 1100 mg, which seems a lot considering it was AUC 6.
I know the formula is based on the surface of the body. I have 1.94 square meters (75 Kg and 180 cm).
I know there is a factor based on creatinine. I remember seeing a value of 69 for this one...or something with 69.

Any of you guys had treatment with AUC 6 and not AUC 7?

    Thank you!
All the best to all of you!!!

Doc said that with this dose it will happen.

    Thank you.

I don't know the difference between AUC7 and AUC6 and details about dosage, but as far as I know, I have never heard of a guy who had carboplatin for TC and lost his hair.

I'm no expert on carboplatin dosage calculation, but I do know that the NCCN guidelines call for one or two cycles at AUC=7. I wonder what is behind your doctor's preference.
