    Chemo can backfire?

    This is a bit disturbing:

    Probably doesn't affect TC treatment since it has an excellent track record at this point, but other cancers?

    The report (abstract found here) is an examination of something known as the tumor microenvironment, and describes an an yet unknown mechanisms of tumor resistance. The NY daily news sensationalized it a bit, but the report is interesting and demonstrating how we in the lab need to examine not just how to kill cancer cells in a test tube, but to consider the larger environment.
