    Question about symptoms

    Hi all,

I just finished 3BEP in May 2012 (stage 3 NS with mets to lung and abdomen), and am almost due for a follow-up at the end of the month. I've been having some symptoms, though, and I'm not sure how seriously I should take them (i.e., whether I need to get a hold of an oncologist right now). I'm currently between oncologists, since I just moved for a new job, but I have a meeting scheduled with my new health provider for a few weeks (I'm in the process of getting all my records transferred).

In any case, here are my symptoms, which have lasted for about 3 weeks:
    1) I am occasionally coughing up yellow sputum,
    2) I have consistent pressure near my left temple and in the center of my forehead (It feels like it could be sinus pressure, but my nose is completely dry). I occasionally have odd pains in my head, but nothing crippling, and I ordinarily would ignore them.
    3) I feel a bit off-centered, though I wouldn't actually call it "dizziness" (i.e., I don't actually feel as if I'm going to tip over).

I did go to the Urgent care to talk to GPs twice over the last month, and they gave me some antibiotics to take (none of which have really worked). They seemed to think it was some sort of infection, which I'd (obviously) be very happy with. On the other hand, they aren't oncologists, and I know my last CT scan showed small (<2 mm) lung spots.

Any thoughts, TC community? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any thoughts on a good course of action?

Your symptoms are not consistent with any that I associate with TC, but I am no expert. Everything except the nipple pressure sound like it could be infection related. Might be worth another trip to the doc to see if they can figure it out.

If an infection is caused by a virus, then antibiotics are useless. Your symptoms are very consistent with upper respiratory infection, so you might want to follow up with the Urgent Care staff about the possibility of viral infection.
