    Ache in remaining testicle

I had a rt I/O in September and since have had 2x BEP cycles. In January i started having a dull ache that seemed to begin in the testicle and go up the cords( not sure what they are called) into my left side of my abdomen. I had a ultrasound but it came back negative. The ache subsided since, then just yesterday that same ache began again. I am so paranoid. The urologist told me it was normal to feel sensitive in that area. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it normal to feel sensitivity after chemo and I/O?

    Hey,
I too had similar issue after my 3xBEP and had an ultrasound and was clear. Then later the same feeling then he just did a physical exam and I was still fine. To be honest mine was more like every time of a month (kinda of like girls) it would just seems achy, which the body does have circadian cycles. He said too that my remaining one felt a little softer, but it was just from the chemo he said. This happened about 6-8 months out after chemo so he said the body could still be trying to get used to just one. He said that low testosterone could be part of it. With that said, mine was low then, but we waited two months to see if it kept increasing and it did and since then I have had much less the achy feeling. I would say give it time and hopefully it will improve or see about the T level although I've heard that the body can naturally rebound (but some don't).

It's hard not to be paranoid I know I was. Know after almost a year out I feel more comfortable but still get aches. Also, to be honest I think I check myself much more critically now, and think every little thing I didn't notice before is cancer, but that is not the case. Just be as strong and on those hard days turn here or to other close people.

Also I noticed this achy feeling after about 3 months, so very similar to you.

    Hi Joseph,

It seems that many guys get these aches and pains. I also had them a few months after my TC1. It's usually nothing serious, but it's good you had the ultrasound. It's possible everyone is just more aware of anything unusual in their remaining testicle.

Keep up the self exams, once a month is sufficient, but don't hesitate to call your doc if you are unsure about anything.

    Best wishes.

Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; one equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will; to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
