Here is a link to a recent report comparing carboplatin to radiation therapy. These reports have been appearing in some professional on-line journals plus the general press as the researchers/authors present their findings at various cancer conferences in the UK and US.

The authors actually published the paper last Spring. Marcusjames posted the summary and a link to the abstrast at http://www.tc-cancer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7819.

Thanks for this Paul, I am hearing such recommendations more and more.
I would like to see studies in future of a comparison in long term follow up between single shot and 2 shots of carboplatin...
Also, interesting to note that they are thinking of using it immediately and with no possible I/O. Even if it worked, I still think I'd prefer the I/O. Possibly more applicable for those with only a single testis left and due to the small numbers involved in such a trial it will be hard to get meaningful results.
Unless they go for guys with 2 intact and a cancer and ask them to volunteer for a trial. I sure wouldn't want to be part of that trial.....
100% classical seminoma (I-A, RTI). Surveillance (no adjuvant therapy). 4 years all-clear and hoping for many more.
