    Home!

    Hi,

My husband was released from hospital today! He is doing so much better! He still can't keep down any solids, but soups are staying down so we are concentrating on that for now.

He's gotten 3 doses of Emend for the start of Round 2 next week. We also have 10 days of Neupogen injections to be given about 10 days after Round 2 starts. I am hoping that the Neupogen will keep him healthier for the next round. Luckily, he's not squemish like me and he can give the injections himelf.

He's also shaving his head today because the hair started REALLY coming out. I am secretly glad most of it came out at the hospital....and not in my house. Am I horrible?

Question for those that lost hair - did you lose your eyebrows and lashes? He's still hanging on to his and I wondered if they will be gone too?

Thanks for all the advice and support.

Welcome home! Glad the nausea is more well-controlled and you're back in the comfort of your own familiar surroundings.

Reese started Emend this past cycle, and that made a big difference with his nausea. We will definitely be counting on it for round 3, as well.

He still has his eyebrows and eyelashes (and most body hair, although it's thinning) and is half-way through cycle two. He lost the hair on his head a few days before beginning round 2.

Never lost my eyebrows and only lost most of my hair after end of second cycle.

My eyebrows and eyelashes thinned out a lot, but I did not lose them completely.

I lost all my body hair by cycle 2.

One thought on the Neupogen. My doctor gave me Neulasta, which I was told does the same thing as Neupogen - but you only need 1 shot per cycle, instead of 10 shots per cycle. Ask your doctor if they would be willing to give that instead.

I lost all hair, what was left up top -- and body hair- (including the hair in my nose- which then ran a lot!)
Stay hydrated, and beware of bone pain caused by the Neupogen.
