Had Physical, Doc thinks its nothing, but have lump
I have a little extra mushy stuff on the back of my left testicle. It has been there for at least 4 yrs or so I believe, I dont really remember when I became aware.
My regular doctor that gave physical exam a yr ago, felt them a little and didnt think it was much concern. Basically if I excercise wrong and pinch testicals, they can hurt for a week, and it is tender there alot of the time. My question. should I get a 2nd opinion , and from what kind of doctor? is there a referal service? just look for urologist? I am 34 male, sarasota,fl Thanks guys |

In my non medical opinion I would say with it being mushy and the amount of time it has been with you it is most likely not TC. However if you do not feel comfortable with your doctors diagnosis or lack there of definately contact an urologist. As for how it depends on your insurance type and whether or not you need a referral or you can just go. Just call your regular doctor and see if they have one that they can recommend. Peace of mind is a good and if all it takes is an appointment I would make one.

Check out our self-exam instructions do you know what you should be feeling. Squishy stuff can be a fluid filled cyst or a varicocele. Both are benign and generally do not require treatment. If you are having discomfort I definitely urge you to go to a urologist for an exam and ultrasound. Most GPs never see a case of TC and are not very well informed (or are pathetically misinformed) about what to check for. A urologist will give you peace of mind.

If it is a cyst , and it continues to cause discomfort, is there any surgery to remove it? I do not have insurance and am self pay, but I think I will schedule an appointment |

Good, sorry about the insurance issue, but best to see a urologist. If it is a cyst and it continues to bother you, it can be removed by a simple surgery no worse than a vasectomy. Best wishes.
