Friend with advanced tc
I have a friend that was diagnosed with tc but it was very late he caugh it he has spots all over his lungs pelvis a big mass on neck and is starting kemo tommorrow the doctors said he has a 50/50 chance and i am trying to educate myself on this type of cancer and trying to learn from people that have gone threw this any help would be appriciated

I would highly recommend contacting Dr. Einhorn at Indiana University. He is considered the testicular cancer expert. Your friend should be seen by testicular cancer experts. This is somewhat rare so again a expert would increase his chances of survival. Good luck!

not yet tommorrow they will have path they are positive it is what he has thats why they schedualed kemo to start tommorrow i will post that when i find out

i dont know what level it was but its normally a 2 and his is 390,000

I would bet the chemo he will receive is 4xBEP. The treatment takes 12 weeks, and it is the most aggressive first line treatment available. The specifics on the pathology report are crucial to see what the course of action will entail. Know that we're here to help as much as we can.

Welcome, bigmac. If you can post the final pathology, tumor markers (AFP, b-HCG) and a CT scan summary we'll be able to help more. Definately need to start chemo ASAP if he has extensive metastases.
Keep in ming that even advanced TC can be cured. We're here to help. You're a good friend...he'll need your support.

his afp is 21 his b-hcg # was 390,000 and the mass in his stomache was a metatastic germ cell tumor the size of a softball and also has one on his neck they said it was stage 3c he started rounds of kemo yesterday for five days then off two weeks then five days for five cycles i think the treatment is vip thank you everyone for the support
