  • Booking first checkup after I/O

I am booking the first checkup after I/O. Should it be 3 full months or could be a little earlier? I am not feeling well in any way, and not sure whether it is a reflect from my anxiety.

If you are not feeling well, you should see your doc, the calendar is not important.

Anxiety can be a real challenge after diagnosis so please don't hesitate to discuss it with your doctor. Typically, the surgeon will want to see you for a pos-op visit a week or so after the orchiectomy. How soon other follow ups are will depending on your imaging needs (results) and tumor marker levels. If you aren't sure, then just reach out to the doctor's office and ask them.

        Thank you, Mike and Davepet.

I had the CT scan result and marker levels back. AFP/HCG/LDH levels are all normal. CT scans find some inguinal lymph nodes on left side(my I/O side), biggest 0.7CM. CT scan before the surgery was clear on left inguinal area. Retroperitoneal area is clear. Currently, my doctor doesn't think the inguinal lymph nodes are seminoma related. But, I have to check regularly. Did anyone have the same experience?

The inguinal nodes, especially at that size could just be post-operative changes as isolated inguinal involvement is more rare, unless you had previous scrotal or groin surgery then perhaps a bit more likely. It sounds like your doctor is thinking the same thing but will keep an eye on it, which is good.

Thank you, Mike. The doctor ordered a ultrasound check, and the inguinal nodes seemed normal. So, I will keep on surveillance.
